Sandile Prusente

Sandile Prusente is TB HIV Care’s Care and Treatment Programme Director. In this role, he provides leadership, operational and strategic direction to the programme and collaborates closely with funders and the Eastern Cape Department of Health.

Sandile has a nursing background with diplomas in general, community, midwifery and psychiatric nursing sciences. He is a public health specialist (MSc Med) with more than 12 years of experience in clinical and research programmes.

In 2007, Sandile joined the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) as a nurse clinician (HIV/TB) and later worked with the International Centre for Aids Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) in patient clinical management.

Sandile joined TB HIV Care in 2009. He served in various positions including as a site manager (Mthatha) and a regional manager (Eastern Cape) (HTS/PP Prev). In 2018, he was responsible for technical support as the clinical technical lead for the Care and Treatment Programme. Sandile’s goal has always been to provide sound leadership that creates an enabling work environment for all those in need of development.

Yumna Gamieldien

Yumna Gamieldien is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) and holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) from the University of Cape Town.

Yumna joined TB HIV Care in 2017 when she accepted the role of Financial Manager after three years in the corporate sector. She quickly progressed through the organisation to hold the position of Finance Director – where she was central to helping the executive team navigate TB HIV Care’s growth, expansion, and organisational development.

Today, Yumna is TB HIV Care’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the support units within the organisation. These include finance, human resources, operations, information systems and technology, and grants and legal.

Sandra Abrahamse

Sandra Abrahamse is TB HIV Care’s quality assurance and improvement manager.

In her role, Sandra leads a team with the goal of providing quality HIV rapid testing to all clients by supporting rapid test continuous quality improvement (RT-CQI) processes and providing the relevant technical support, across all programmes.

Other areas of focus include providing technical support to programmatic quality improvement (QI) team members, who use data to bring about improvements in programmatic performance.

She also leads the standardisation of processes across the organisation through the development and maintenance of a document management system, including SharePoint, SOPs, policy, templates, training, and implementation.

Sandra is a qualified medical technologist with extensive experience in site setup and document management, in line with accreditation standards in South Africa and the Middle East. She has ten years of experience in the HIV and microbicide clinical trials environment, with a strong focus on the quality of HIV testing and document management systems and processes.
