Jenny Mcloughlin
Programme Director: Priority Population Prevention

Jenny Mcloughlin is TB HIV Care's Priority Populations Prevention (PPPrev) Programme Director. In this role, she will provide leadership, operational and strategic direction to the programme and continues to collaborate closely with funders and the Department of Health.

Jenny has a nursing background and has worked in the NGO field and the South African public health system for more than 30 years.

Jenny has been responsible for PEPFAR-funded programmes involving multiple partners for more than ten years, first at the University of the Western Cape, where she was responsible for the coordination of projects and budget management. In 2009, Jenny joined TB HIV Care (THC) as a site manager (Harry Gwala), where the funded project known as "Project Integrate” won an Impumelelo Social Innovations Platinum Award. Jenny has served the organisation in various positions, including as a re-engineering primary health care (PHC) specialist, quality improvement advisor and a technical lead.

Jenny's goal has always been to improve health outcomes by expanding the role of community agents who work in teams with health professionals in designated catchment areas. This was born out of the re-engineering PHC model, based on a ward system started in KwaZulu-Natal.
