Amanda Fononda joined TB HIV Care in March 2015 as a Correctional Services Programme (CSP) Regional Manager (East London). Under her guidance, the management areas in both Eastern Cape (6) and KZN (2) flourished. Over the last four years Amanda has become fluent in all areas of programme management under both the Global Fund and PEPFAR (CDC) grants. Of note was her stewardship of the Management Development Programme.
Amanda’s resumé reflects more than a decade of collaboration with international and local non-governmental organisations. Her aptitude is for Public Health with a passion for key and vulnerable populations. Her previous roles have included Programme Assistant, Grant Administrator, Project Officer and Regional Project Coordinator, where Amanda gained valuable expertise in grant management (European Union, Global Fund, PEPFAR and Atlantic Philanthropies).
Amanda Fononda graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology & Applied Economics followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town. She holds a National Diploma in Journalism.
Amanda is currently an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity based at Tekano.
