Senior Traditional of Baziya
Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi is the current reigning Senior Traditional of Baziya within the Abathembu Kingdom, HRH is the founder and Patriot of the Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Foundation. Within the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders, Nkosi Joyi holds the position of Subcommittee Chairperson for Economic Development, Tourism, and Mineral Resources. additionally HRH is deployed to the Western Cape Provincial Initiation Coordination Committee, where he currently presides as the Chairperson.
National Department of Health South Africa, Chief Director: HIV and AIDS & STI’s
Mrs Gugu Shabangu is a Chief Director for HIV and AIDS & STIs in the National Department of Health. Her portfolio includes providing strategic direction in the management of HIV and AIDS and STI’s amongst others In the past 3 decades she has coordinated different health programs like Mental Health, Nutrition, HIV and AIDS, Maternal and Child Care and others. She has contributed so much in strengthening District Health Systems in her 5 years as a District Director She has coordinated HIV and AIDS, TB and STIs response as KZN Provincial Council on AIDS Head of Secretariat and her priority has always been placing key population and vulnerable groups in the centre of HIV and AIDS, TB and STI’s response
CDC-South Africa, Deputy Country Director
Paula Morgan is the CDC-South Africa as the Deputy Director since August 2023. In this capacity, and together with the CDC Director and OD, she sets the CDC strategic direction for the office to ensure smooth technical, programmatic, and administrative operations. Previously, Paula served in Nairobi, Kenya as the Deputy Country Director and Business Officer from January 2021 through June 2023. In Kenya, Paula worked with 8 CDC Programs across the spectrum of global health programs to ensure a One-CDC approach. Paula also served in Hanoi, Vietnam as the CDC and DGHT Deputy Director from August 2015 to December 2020. While in Vietnam, Paula helped establish the SE Asia Regional Office based in Hanoi.
From May 2012 to July 2015, she served as the Deputy Director for the CDC Zimbabwe office. Prior to that, Paula served as the Technical Public Health Advisor and Gender Focal point at CDC Mozambique from April 2008 to April 2012.
TB HIV Care Board, Treasurer
Greg Wesson (B Acc (US), Hons B Compt (UNISA), PG Dip Tax Law (UCT) completed his accounting articles at Ernst and Young and his national service with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Therafter he moved to the private sector and managed the Accounting, Credit, Financial Planning, Manufacturing Finance, Special Projects, Tax and Treasury portfolios at Chevron and Itron for more than 20 years. Currently Greg performs consulting work for companies in the accounting and finance areas. He joined the board of TB HIV Care Association as non-executive director in June 2012.
TB HIV Care Board, Chairperson
Memory Muturiki has a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Medicine, a Bachelor of Surgery, a diploma in HIV management, advanced health management, and is a certified independent medical examiner. Memory has served on the board for five years. She has about 17 years of experience as both a clinician and leadership roles in the public, NGO and private healthcare sectors and is currently the Director of the Student Wellness Services at the University of Cape Town. She has worked for the International AIDS Society, the Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute, the LoveLife Trust (Youth Friendly Clinical Services) and collaborated with the National Department of Health. She has been involved in a number of public health interventions at a national level, including task teams of the Integrated School Health Policy, the Adolescent and Youth Health Policy and the Paediatric and Adolescent HIV Treatment Advisory.
TB HIV Care Board, Chief Executive Officer
Prof. Harry Hausler is the Chief Executive Officer of TB HIV Care and has served on the board since 2007. Harry is a family physician, HIV clinician and preventive medicine specialist with more than 30 years of international public health experience implementing and evaluating integrated tuberculosis (TB) and HIV programs. Harry has a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prior to working with TB HIV Care, he worked with the Global TB Programme of the World Health Organization in Geneva and as the National TB/HIV Technical Advisor in the South African Department of Health. He has also managed medical services in refugee camps in Rwanda and conducted research on TB preventive treatment and prevention of mother to child transmission in Haiti. Harry served as a member of the World Health Organisation Civil Society Task Force on TB from 2019 to 2023 and the Chair of the Civil Society Forum (CSF) and Co-Chair of the Provincial Council on AIDS and TB in the Western Cape from 2021 to 2024. He is a member of the National TB Think Tank, the CSF TB Task Team and TB Technical Working Group of the South African National AIDS Council.
TB HIV Care, Senior Pharmacy Advisor, Care and Treatment Program
Sisanda Nomajali Mlondleni serves as the Senior Pharmacy Advisor for the Care and Treatment Program at TB HIV Care in the Eastern Cape. With over a decade of expertise in pharmaceutical care and public health, she holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from the University of the Western Cape and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Walter Sisulu University. Her MPH research, “Exploring Facilitators and Barriers to Medication Access Using the Centralized Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) Program in Two Selected Health Facilities in the King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Area of the Eastern Cape: A Qualitative Study,” focused on improving access to chronic medications, a crucial issue in rural healthcare. Sisanda is deeply committed to community development and healthcare equity. Her work emphasizes sustainable, patient-centred pharmaceutical solutions in underserved areas, enhancing medication access for vulnerable populations. Beyond her professional role, Sisanda actively participates in community-driven projects, striving to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery and advocate for improved health outcomes across her province.
